This last weekend was the big Fallout Weekend held in Goodsprings NV at the Pioneer Saloon. For those that don’t know, the Pioneer Saloon is the central focus of the town of Goodsprings. It is also featured in the video game Fallout: New Vegas as the starting location. Last year the new owner of the saloon, known as “Old Man Liver” embraced the Fallout connection and sought to bring in fans from all over the world to enjoy the Fallout universe and get together to have a weekend of fun!
You can find out more information about the weekend’s events on their official page.
I took this opportunity to break out a few of my photo toys and get some great stills and video footage of the event. The result is the video below as well as some great shots of the saloon and costumes.
We attended for a limited time on both days and had a great time. The costume contest was long, but incredibly fun and great to see all of the mazing work put into the outfits.
The staff of the saloon were all in great spirits and welcoming, despite what we all knew was a grueling schedule! I never saw or heard a single complaint about anything!
When they are not hosting video game based events, the Pioneer Saloon is open on a regular basis down in Goodsprings and we have visited quite a few times. The food is amazing and the ambiance is always a delight from one of the oldest locations around Las Vegas!
Video was shot on the Samsung S23 Ultra using an Insta360 Flow gimbal, as well as the DJI Mini 3 drone for all the overhead shots. Still were done with my Nikon Z8.
