Las Vegas has a number of opportunities to see some amazing talent. One of the best places to do this would be in some of the random tavern/bar concerts that show up in the area. A great showcase for local talent has been the Taverna Rooftop. I was made aware of the venue due to a previous client showing up on the showcased artists list, that being Throckmore.
Taverna is a quaint little restaurant in the arts district of north Las Vegas and has some great food (I had the spicey chicken sandwich and it was awesome). Upstairs from the eatery is a very cool rooftop stage and bar. This was the location for the evenings concert.
The show started at 6pm, but sadly I got there a little late and missed out on Aubrey Digital. (Sorry!) I heard their show was amazing and I was a little bummed about it. When I arrived, Sunbone was on stage doing their thing so I dove right into taking photos.
Using these photos…
Since this was a self inflicted adventure out to get some photos I will say that any band that I shot is more than welcome to use the photos I took for promotion, all I ask is that you provide proper attribution (Link to this site, and mention either Pipistrello Photography or my name, Steve Petrucelli)
You can also visit the “Book Me!” section and leave a tip if you like the photos that much!
Sunbone
I don’t know much about Sunbone as there isn’t much internet presence for them, but they are a Duo that sounded like a good mix of eletronic, acoustic, and folk music. Their sound was great and I think the photos came out really good. They went on at 7pm and the sun was just starting to set so there is some variation of lighting in the photos.
The venue also had a really cool string light plant set up that allowed for some interesting framing.
Jaq Jaq
After Sunbone was finished they started to get ready for Jaq Jaq. Unfortunately, I had not eaten anything yet so I grabbed a few shots and then headed down for some food.
90 Proof
90 Proof was next up and they rocked the house. Their mix of originals and covers from the 90’s were incredible. Their energy was off the charts and a complete delight to shoot.
Throckmore
At around 10pm Throckmore took the stage. As I have stated before, Throckmore is a Metal/Rock band that has a mix of covers and original work. As usual they lived up to their name and Throcked the socks off everyone. The last photos I did for them were all staged, so this was a great chance to see them perform live and get some good action shots.
The Far Worst
Last on the list was The Far Worst. They had a great sound to them and their stage presence was perfect.
